WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA CITY
|
Welcome to CaliforniaCity.Com! This web site is dedicated to serving all the people of California City, whether they were past residents, are presently residents, or could be residents of the future.
CaliforniaCity.Com was established in 1997, then owned and operated by Van Pray until his retirement. As of February 3, 2009, this web site is now owned and operated by the California City Redevelopment Agency, California City, CA. Since 1997 until the new ownership, the site has been proudly maintained by volunteers and supported by donations from local business people and residents. Also, a number of City officials have given their support in many ways. We strive to publish the things that are important and what matters to the people of California City and the world. The web pages are kept current on a daily basis. We hope to continue to expand the site to be a valuable resource and a portal for those interested in our town.
Since, December 2005, the web site has progressed into a great center of information. It is used by local businesses and residents as well as people around the globe for up to date information on our city. For more information, see the US Census Bureau web site. We have added several more pages to the site and have archived others. New ideas are in the works and we welcome suggestions from everyone who visits. We would like everyone to grow with us! Thank you very much for all the great compliments. You can see more data about California City here.
This site is intended to provide access to information that will be beneficial to residents and convenient for the transaction of City-related business. On this site you will find information regarding hours of operation, City municipal codes, the annual budget, and a variety of information.
The City was incorporated in 1965 and is located in the Northern Antelope Valley in Kern County. The City maintains two parks, a senior center, a community center, a sports center, tennis courts, and a pool. In addition to the City facilities, the community contains the National Desert Tortoise Preserve. Schools are provided by the Mojave Unified School District including two elementary, a middle, and a high school, Cerro Coso College, and local private institutions. The community boasts of a variety of fraternal organizations, youth sports' programs and a myriad of faith-based organizations.
