Girl Scouts
Geanie Tackett, Service Unit Manager, receives donation from AERO representative, Kevin Schafer. Lockheed Martin’s AERO (Aeronautics Employee's Reaching Out) Club recently presented Girl Scout’s Blowing Sands Service Unit with a generous donation of $492.13. Kevin Schafer from the AERO Club presented the contribution to Geanie Tackett, Service Unit Manager. The purpose of the AERO Club is to provide a way for Lockheed Martin AERO employees to contribute through a single channel to recognized charitable, scientific, literary, and educational organizations and agencies. At Edwards, Lockheed employees contributed over $14K that was dispersed to: Catholic Charities of Lancaster/Rosamond, Alliance for Family Violence, Meals on Wheels Rosamond, AV United Way, Saddle Up Therapeutic Riding Stables, Edwards AFB Historical Museum, Grace Resources, Civilian Military Group and California City Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts. Mr. Schafer also put out a challenge to the local business owners to help support the Scouting organizations by matching or partially matching Lockheed Martin’s contribution.The Girl Scouts of the Blowing Sands Service Unit wish to express their gratitude to the employees of the AERO Club for their support. The funds will be used to provide awards and to fund activities for the Girl Scouts and to further promote the ideals of Scouting.Thank you for helping to provide a quality program for the girls of our community.
